A Trumbull County 911 dispatcher is accusing a Newton Falls city official of assaulting him after Tuesday night's special council meeting.
Jim Luonuansuu says Law Director Rick Schwartz pushed and swore at him, after being asked about the status of a pending lawsuit regarding the 911 center. Luonuansuu says he was knocked off-balance when he was pushed, and was treated at Saint Joe's for back pain. He now wants to file criminal charges.
Luonuansuu said, "I think it requires going to court and getting sentenced to anger management. If he is throwing tirades and putting hands on people, what's next."
The Newton Falls Police Chief has asked the sheriff's department to investigate the matter. Schwartz isn't commenting, other than to say he is very surprised Luonuansuu is claiming injury.
