Bond has been set at $3 million for the Youngstown teenager accused in the robbery and murder of an elderly woman last week.

Jamar Houser appeared on closed-circuit video Monday morning in Youngstown Municipal Court.

He was arrested Friday night after police obtained aggravated robbery and aggravated murder warrants for him in connection with the shooting death of 80-year-old Angeline Fimognari.

The murder happened outside of St. Dominic Church on Youngstown's South Side. Fimognari had just attended Saturday morning Mass there and was in her car in the church parking lot when the shooting happened.

Monday, the family of the victim watched in court as Houser offered no plea to the charges.

"I don't know how he (Houser) can even live with himself," said Al Milano, the victim's nephew. "I'm just bewildered by it still. We're still in shock."

Authorities said they are still investigating the case to determine if anyone else was involved. They said robbery was the suspected motive.

Houser is due back in court Feb. 8.

Officials previously said Houser has a prior juvenile criminal record and was actually out on bond for allegedly illegally firing a weapon in September.

"We sent the case over with a $500,000 bond attached that we recommended, felt it was appropriate," said Youngstown city Prosecutor Jay Macjko. "The judge here felt it was appropriate. There was a motion over there to amend the bond to $20,000; 10 percent OK, which meant he could, and apparently was out on $2,000 security."
