An 11 year old boy from Lawrence County, accused in a brutal double murder, is set to be arraigned Tuesday.

Jordan Brown has been held without bond since the crime was committed back in February. He's accused of shooting his father's fiancee' Kenzie Houk, 26.  Brown faces a second murder charge because Houk was 9 months pregnant at the time of her murder. Police say Brown shot and killed Houk while she slept inside the Wampum home she shared with Brown's father.

Brown, because of his age, has spent the last several months in a juvenile detention center in Erie.  It's unclear if he will actually appear in the Lawrence County Courthouse on Tuesday.  The District Attorney is asking that the 5th grader be tried as an adult for the crimes.  If Brown is convicted as an adult, he'll be sentenced to life in prison.

Continued messagae from previous message: ready for school. One thing is for sure, it was the one who is getting all the blame (Jordan) who made sure the victims daughter got to school on time. How often had that been happening in that home??? Too many people (including the victims family) are jumping the gun here to convict this child and until I see otherwise, he is innocent and I would not want to answer for convicting him otherwise.....not on the "evendence" we have seen through the media. So I guess I am among the group who feels horrible for him and hopes this all gets sorted out before it is too late for him and a terrible mistake is made on his behalf!!!!

Here is a quote from the DA that has appeared in several media outlets: "But Bongivengo said he only had to show that a crime had been committed and that Brown could have committed it." Does this comment bother anyone?? All the DA has to prove is that Jordan COULD have done it. That is not proof...this is saying he COULD not he DID!!! Would you want your child, mother, father, brother, sister, spouse convicted on this basis that they "could" have done something??? Anybody "COULD" have done anything...does that mean you did??? Jordan has NOT been proven guilty nor has there been solid evidence (according to media) that has linked him to the crime. Why does everyone say Jordan did this when it has not been proven????? So what the gun "smelled" like it was "recently" fired???? Him and his dad target paractice so of course it smelled like that. His clothes had gun residue on them...so what!! He could have easily worn dirty clothes to school...afterall he is 11 and I have a pre-teen boy and he does not care if his clothes are clean or not unless I make him wear clean clothes. Most boys & MEN can relate to this when they were this age. Again I will say that there are so many speculations and assumptions. I want to see solid proof and not could have's, might have's, etc..... I have also heard a lot of people say that Jordan's father should get in trouble too for the guns being not locked up in the home with Jordan. Correct me if I am wrong but the victim also lived in that home and she too had 2 small girls in that home so she is equally to blame for negligent parenting. Then the victims daugther said a couple times that nothing happened that morning then they (DA) say she said she heard a noise. My question is why did SHE change her story???? Does Jordan's fate lie with a 7 year old who can't make up HER mind of what happened???? Unfortunately the victim also proved possible negligent the morning of her death by not being up with those kids getting

I find it absurd that anyone would consider trying a child as an adult, anyone that would even consider such a thing is insane.

I suggest everyone write a letter to the governor of PA to let him know how disgusted you are with the way PA charges children as adults and about teh mandatory sentencing laws they have. I would also write to the boys lawyer (see past stories for name) to let him know you support this child and the fact that IF he is guilty, he needs to be placed where he can get some help not in prison where once he is moved to a prison he ends up getting abused by seasoned inmates. He has gone through more than a lot of adults have. I have also "heard" the DA DOES have a choice to reduce the charges but he is insistant on putting him away for life and he says he has no choice but for some reason this just does not sit well with me. I understand the victims are grieving but then again this supposedly was not an adult who committed this crime (if Jordan is found guilty which has not been established yet) and if you read the papers the victims family have turned on this boy which may make one wonder what would have happened if his dad and the victim did get married. I also read in another post that the boy was taunted and teased because of the new baby and then the fact that this boy's life was centered aroud his dad then the new baby was to be named after the dad. What sort of thinking is that. Well his hearing was delayed so I am looking at that as a good thing and it just gives Jordan more time to build his own case by continueing to thrive at the facility he is at. I suggest writing the various newspapers in PA to voice how you feel about the DA being instant on locking this child up forever and I also suggest you search for this story and leave your comments. I have read so many comments against this child and we need to get some out there that show this treatment of children with these mandatory sentencings are torture to children. Let your voices be heard!!!

Adults cannot give a gun to a child and then charge him for using it like a child. Obviously there is more going on here. This boy was raised by his father. He apparently has little relationship with his birth mom who lives nearby and is raising her 12 year old daughter. This boy had to move in with a step mom, 2 step sisters, and a baby on the way in a matter of a few months. He may have feared the stepmother was trying to get him out with his grandmother. Adults have nervous breakdowns for changes in their lives. Why can't a child? Adults experience depression. Why can't children? The child needs counseling and juvenile attention and forgiveness, along with a supportive family. This is really pathetic and it is hard to fathom any adult fighting for the life imprisonment of an 11 year-old boy. This is horrific. Also very sad that he only had the gun for 2 months and they are trying to call him a good hunter. Pathetic media. This is a child. Equally hard to comprehend is that this boy's picture was exposed right from the get go, like he is an adult. What if he was abused, molested, etc. They just put him out there and let the hawks eat him up. This law is a total injustice, not to mention cruel and unusual punishment because a boy his age is actually be tortured because he is being shackled in a courtroom full of adults and they are speaking words he never heard of before and these adults are pretending like this a fair because they can break it down to make sense to him. It does not even sound right. I can die when I hear the words "premeditated". A child this age does not think, he reacts. I am not saying what he did does not require punishment but this is extreme and never should be a law in the first place. The day people start agreeing with this kind of thinking and letting it continue without coming to the aid of a child , well, we might as well just throw in the towel and give everything up. The world is coming to an end...Don't sit back. ACLU....Help!!!

You cannot give a child a gun and charge him for using it with a child's mind. Obviously there is more going on here. The boy was forced to move in with this "new" family, step mom, her daughters, and baby on the way and within a few months his life was completely changing. Adults have nervous break downs for changes such as these. He may have been concerned the step mom wanted him out with grandma. Don't forget his birth mom is not really in the picture but lives nearby and is raising her 12 year old daughter. This boy needs counseling. It is hard to fathom any adult fighting in court for the life imprisonment of an 11 year- old boy. This is cruel and unusual punishment and I fear PA is only going through this because the law itself is faulty. Everyone needs to speak up and write to their Representatives in behalf of this boy. Also try the ACLU-PA and others. This is a nightmare to hear about and sickens me that adults would put a child through an adult system. Sickens me.

Our country should be ashamed to try children as adults. We want to believe our country is one of the best but we are only as good as we treat our children.

Mandatory sentencing is not a one size fits all. Both juvie and adult sanctions need an overhaul. Children are the most rehabilitatable and that happening should not come down to the dollar sign or two little/to much punishment. Stop warehousing babies! www.justiceforjuveniles.org

I followed the case of the 8 year old Arizona boy since the beginning from the European point of view (I'm German) so I read about this case also. Here are a lot of people who can't understand that in the US children can be tried as adult, for my personal point of view, it's not punishment, it's vengeance that they want to do on this boy. If he do it, he does a horrible crime of course, but I think all children deserve a second chance. So I hope they use common sense in this case and let this case stay in the juvenile court.
