This past Saturday, the Las Vegas Locos clinched their spot in the United Football League's inaugural championship game by defeating the California Redwoods, 16-10, in San Jose.
The title game is set for the day after Thanksgiving (November 27) at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The Florida Tuskers (5-0) have already stamped their ticket to Vegas for the opportunity to play for the championship. The Tuskers are coached by Jim Haslett (former Saints' head coach). The league's top two quarterbacks, Brooks Bollinger (Florida) and JP Losman (Las Vegas), will showcase their abilities in front of a national television audience on the Versus Network. The Locos (3-2) are coached by Jim Fassel and have a local participant on the team in former Ursuline Irish standout Branndon Braxton. The mammoth offensive tackle was released by the Cleveland Browns in September. He has been a member of Las Vegas all season long.
