Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has agreed, in principle, to defend his title on April 17th against junior middleweight titlist Sergio Martinez.

The contracts have not been officially signed as of yet, but both sides have agreed to terms. An official press conference is expected to come after the Olympics.

The proposed bout will be broadcast as part of HBO's World Championship Boxing from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Pavlik (36-1 with 32 knockouts) is coming off his 3rd successful title defense against Miguel Espino. Martinez (44-2-2 with 24 knockouts) most recently lost a 12-round decision to Paul Williams last December.
