Executives with a potential suitor for Forum Health spent the day getting to know leaders of the system's larger unions.
Officials with both the SEIU and AFSCME confirmed meetings were held Thursday morning with leaders of the Tennessee-based Community Health Systems. Another firm from that state, Ardent Health Services, has already made a bid for Forum's assets.
Officials said the meetings were preliminary in nature and further sessions are expected. At this point, Community Health has not made any offers for Forum.
An auction for those assets is still planned for August 5.
