Forum Health is eliminating up to 125 positions system-wide.
The news was released Friday afternoon and the company said it is beginning to notify affected employees immediately.
In a prepared statement, the company said "While difficult, this action is necessary to maintain a competitive position in the marketplace in the face of economic pressures impacting hospitals and health care providers both locally and across the country. The reductions are unrelated to the ongoing bankruptcy process."
Staff reductions are expected to be made over the next few months and will mainly affect non-patient care, management and health systems positions.
Reductions will be made through a combination of attrition, job restructuring and layoffs, according to the statement.
Forum Health officials declined additional comment.
