A decision on Forum's future will not be decided by next week.

The hospital system announced Thursday that a Jan. 11 deadline has been suspended for executives to finish reviewing bids on Forum's property or submit a reorganization plan to bankruptcy court.

Forum filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March 2009. Its facilities include Northside Medical Center, Austintown Ambulatory, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. Currently, the system, which employs about 3,400, is $133 million in debt. In court, there are three bidders for the entire system and one interested in Hillside only.

An original deadline had been set for December and then pushed to Jan. 11.

Hospital leaders said they remain committed to providing quality care to the Valley.
