The largest creditor's group with Forum Health has apparently grown impatient with the pace of the health care system's reorganization strategy.
Late Friday afternoon, the group filed its own plan with the bankruptcy court.
The secured creditors filed the plan to expedite the system's exit from Chapter 11.
According to court documents, creditors complained over what they're calling Forum's inability to complete the sale of assets to Ardent Health Services of Tennessee.
Just Thursday, one of Forum's largest unions agreed to a contract with Ardent.
A press release issued by Forum said it would not comment on the filing. However, the release said it remains committed to exploring all options to secure a "stable" future for Forum and continue access to high-quality health care.
"It continues to be our belief that the best available options remain a potential sale of the system or a standalone plan of reorganization," the release states.
Forum Health in March 2009 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Its facilities include Northside Medical Center, Austintown Ambulatory, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. Currently, the system, which employs about 3,400, is $133 million in debt.
