Forum Health is now Community Health Systems.
The sale of Forum to CHS was finalized Oct. 1, 16 months after the health care provider filed for bankruptcy. Some of the conditions of the sale are that all three hospitals--Northside, Trumbull Memorial and Hillside--remain open.
CHS will also invest $80 million over the next five years. All employees will be hired into the same positions, at the same rate of pay, with their years of service recognized.
The tax status of the hospitals have also changed. Since they no longer have non-profit status, they'll begin paying both property and other taxes in the communities they serve.
