A bombshell was dropped in the Daybreak Mayoral race Thursday.
In a tearful speech, Jim Loboy conceded to his fellow opponents. Several attended. Here's an excerpt of his speech:
If you'll indulge me, a moment. With a heavy heart, I withdraw my candidacy for the Mayor of Daybreak Nation. Certain people are made for the cut-throat tactics of major party politics; I am not one of them.
Those who helped with my election, from the envelope stuffers to those that knocked on doors and made phone calls, I truly thank you for your dedication to the cause. That said, I ask you to put your faith in my opponent, Len Rome. I endorse him with enthusiasm, and hope you'll do the same.
Sure, he'll rule with an iron fist, a totalitarian dictator; but he's a real swell guy. Thank you, thank you and God bless America.
